Jowell Doughly
BOARD CHAIR
Jowell Doughly is the visionary behind Show Me The Truth, a certified Confidence and Wellness coach, and a skilled jewelry designer. With more than ten years of experience in Downtown Los Angeles, Jowell has witnessed the devastating consequences of untreated mental health challenges, which often lead to addiction, isolation, and homelessness. Her deep connection to the community and her insight into the systemic barriers to mental health resources inspired her to establish a nonprofit that connects individuals in need with the support they deserve.
Through Show Me The Truth, Jowell is committed to dismantling the stigma surrounding mental health and ensuring that people don’t have to sacrifice their mental well-being for financial stability. As a coach, her focus is on empowerment and personal growth, while her love for jewelry design reflects her belief in crafting beauty and meaning along life’s journey.
Beyond her professional pursuits, Jowell draws strength and inspiration from music, which plays a central role in both her personal life and her work.
Meris Thomas
VICE CHAIR
Meris is someone who thrives on bringing people together through unforgettable experiences. Starting her professional journey in Miami, she began building her career in the events world working behind the scenes—designing, coordinating, and managing events across music, art, and lifestyle sectors. Her background instilled in her a strong attention to detail, a love of creativity, and the ability to thrive under pressure.
Meris believes deeply in using the proper platform for good. Her commitment to serving on this charity board stems from a personal passion for supporting individuals who struggle with mental health challenges, addiction, and other struggles that come with this thing called life. She sees music as both a form of healing and connection, and champions the intersection of mental health advocacy and the transformative power of art.
Outside her professional pursuits, she finds balance and inspiration in nature and music—scuba diving turquoise waters, playing golf, or jamming out in the threshold of sounds from Sister Rosetta Tharpe to Tom Petty. Her creative well is deep, drawn from a love of all art forms and the stories they tell.
